Operational Information

Ipswich Community Radio is a diverse community station, available 24 hours a day and aimed at the entire community. The ICR FM schedule is broadcast on FM across Ipswich and via the internet live.

Ipswich Community Radio is set to provide local information as well as provide an ‘alternative’ output allowing members of the community to broadcast on the station following an 8 week training course. This allows for platform for broadcasting in the area which is not available through mainstream media. Our key commitments hold details on the type of programming we are expected to produce in percentages.

Ipswich Community Radio output is automated overnight and when required, some shows may be pre-recorded or repeated. When shows are recorded or repeated during the day, a notice before the programme is played to state the programme is not live.

News

Ipswich Community Radio has no fixed news bulletins or commitments to do so at this time. Any news broadcast in our output has been sourced and researched independent by volunteers and/or guests/listeners.

The Programme Schedule

Our schedule varies every day. Compared to commercial radio, our schedule is very diverse and we carry a lot of shows. It can be found here.

Studio Webcam and Visual Viewing

ICR now offers the public a chance to watch selected shows from the schedule live in a live video format. The camera availability, times and duration’s vary based on a range of different things and we don’t always broadcast the camera live to the website. It is the discretion of the live presenter as to when this camera can go live and ICR respects the privacy of its members so not all of our shows will be streaming in video. At this time this facility is still experimental.

Charities / Events

Ipswich Community Radio often works with the community to help promote local charities and events. We often run fund raisers around the town (Ipswich).
